in teaching and research, Washington University in St. Louis, ranked

professional students from all 50 states and more than 90 nations.
In addition to being home to the School of Law, the
University offers other outstanding graduate schools and programs,
including those at the School of Medicine, the George Warren Brown
School of Social Work, and the Olin School of Business. The
wide spectrum of academic disciplines available at Washington
University enhances the diversity of our student population and adds
to the intellectual life of the University and the School of Law.
As many of our law students elect to participate in one of
our joint degree programs, they are, thus, highly involved with
other divisions of the University.
Anheuser-Busch Hall, the building that houses the School of
Law, in located on the beautiful 169-acre Hilltop Campus, which is
bordered by Forest Park, the site of the 1904 World’s Fair, and by
the charming suburban communities of Clayton and University City.
Something is always happening at Washington University and in
St. Louis. Students can
choose from performances by professional theater and dance
companies; lectures by prominent and controversial political figures
(two presidential debates have been held at Washington University);
literary readings by leading writers of the day; and impromptu music
festivals.
Indeed, the mission of Washington University is to promote
learning-learning by students and faculty.
Teaching, the transmission of knowledge, is central to this
mission, as is research, the creation of new knowledge.
Faculty composed of scholars, scientists, artists, and
members of the learned professions serve society by teaching; by
adding to the store of human art, understanding, and wisdom; and by
providing direct services, such as health care.
It is the University’s goal to foster excellence in our
teaching, research, scholarship, and service; to prepare students
with the attitudes, skills, and habits of lifelong learning and with
the leadership skills to enable them to become productive members of
a global society. The
University serves as an exemplary institution our home community,
St. Louis, as well as in the nation and the world.
